Job Summary:
Develops, maintains and supports applications to meet the needs of the Firm.  Develops custom web, console, and other software applications.  Configures, maintains, performs upgrades, and helps trouble shoot issues with software. Is the primary contact for internally developed applications.

Essential Job Functions:

1.      Works with Lead Applications Developer to develop, maintain and support business applications using modern, project-oriented techniques in a collaborative environment.  Following application development methodology and standards, develops, maintains and supports applications for use by the various departments of the Firm and creates documentation for these applications. Acts as the primary contact for internally developed products.

2.      Works with others in a collaborative environment.  Shares programming techniques and knowledge with other team members to ensure collective efforts result in maximum efficiency.

3.      Maintains understanding of the Agile project planning and estimating process and actively participates in tracking of project status.

4.      Troubleshoots applications-related problems and works with User Support to resolve user issues in a timely and courteous manner. Responds to calls received from the Help Desk ticket tracking system for ticket entry, tracking and follow up. Troubleshoots user problems that may require visiting the user directly. Contributes to and updates the solutions database and the projects management database.

5.      Proactively maintains and expands knowledge of trends, developments and new technologies that may have a potential impact upon firm operations.  Researches, evaluates and provides input on software products and researches, evaluates and recommends enhancements to current applications programs, systems and methods of operating. 

6.      Develops other software such as SharePoint web parts as needed by the Firm.  Configures and maintains server software.  Performs server software upgrades and troubleshoots problems.  Applies software patches when needed.

7.      Compiles and writes documentation of program development and subsequent revisions.  Works with Training Department to develop user documentation and training.

8.      Serves as a liaison with vendors on the implementation of new packaged systems or upgrades to existing systems.  Evaluates and recommends third-party software solutions.

9.      Maintains and expands knowledge of trends, developments and new technologies that may have a potential impact upon firm operations.

10.   Assumes responsibility for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality of all firm records and files.

11.   Participates in departmental project teams and task forces designed to streamline workflow and/or resolve issues; assists with various firm and/or departmental projects and initiatives as assigned.
12.   Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Minimum Job Qualifications :

1.      Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent technical knowledge.

2.      3-5 years of applications development experience including exposure to the latest trends in software application design.

3.      Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft.NET development tools, Visual Studio, C#, MS SQL Server, IIS; working knowledge of Javascript, HTML, JQuery, CSS, AJAX, Entity Framework, NHibernate and LINQ to SQL; and general knowledge of the Agile methodology like Scrum, Pair-Programming, Test-Driven Development (TDD).

4.      Thorough command of the industry language and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a variety of technical and non-technical users.

5.      Strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, use initiative and judgment to accomplish results, participate as a team leader or member of a team, work under pressure and complete job assignments in an accurate, timely and professional manner.

6.      Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required and ability to interact effectively and professionally with all learning styles, personality types and levels of management, staff and a variety of external entities including clients and prospective clients of the Firm.

7.      Ability to travel to the Firm’s other offices.
