Job Summary:
In the Microsoft SharePoint environment, serves as a technical expert to firm and IT staff in providing architecture, engineering and operational support for a multi-server SharePoint environment.  Establishes application security standards, capacity planning, governance, upgrades and system tuning. 
Provides administration of web structure, template and web part development.
Facilitates content development and helps deliver operational efficiencies within the Firm by leveraging experience with workflow and the Microsoft Platform utilizing SharePoint. 
Oversees and participates in the architectural design, development, customization and integration efforts of solutions involving collaboration portals, content management, business process automation, systems integration and business intelligence workflow / business process management.
Essential Job Functions:
1.      Manages the full systems development life cycle of SharePoint Environment and seeks opportunities to build systems based on standard firm architectures that will improve business processes and support critical business strategies. Sets priorities, allocates resources, refines and enforces process, and ensures there is clear communication with other departments and with executive management.
2.      Provides day-to-day support of SharePoint, collaborating with other IT staff in providing architecture, engineering and operational support for a multi-server Microsoft SharePoint environment.  Responsible for the administration of the following systems:  Microsoft Office SharePoint Server and Windows SharePoint Services;  IIS; .NET Framework;  Microsoft Windows Server;  SharePoint Templates and Add-In products, SharePoint & MS Workflow.  Ensures maintenance and synchronization of the SharePoint Farm which includes production, testing and development environments.
3.      Evaluates, recommends, documents and establishes standards around use of the SharePoint.  Establishes a governance plan with a suggested process to guarantee adherence.  Creates and maintains standards to ensure quality control of the content on the intranet, working in partnership with key Firm departments and content owners to enforce content-editorial policy and Firm branding guidelines.
4.      Assists with the creation of high-level strategic SharePoint Intranet project plan and corresponding tactical implementation plans.  Partners with marketing, IT staff, content owners and project stakeholders on the intranet development to identify opportunities for improvement and implementation of solutions that drive usage, streamline processes and facilitate communications, ultimately developing goals and strategies for future content growth.  Reviews and analyzes user feedback and site metrics on an ongoing basis, taking action where appropriate to drive usage and enhance content.
5.      Responsible for deployment of custom developed SharePoint-embedded features.  Creates and implements deployment policies and procedures.  Partners with applications development team to create deployment policies and procedures.
6.      Interfaces with users to analyze the business requirements and translate them into effective solutions within the SharePoint environment.  Maintains content on site collections and team sites.
7.      Configures SharePoint Services and settings.  Documents SharePoint configuration and architecture.  Designs and develops web parts and integration components.
8.      Troubleshoots SharePoint related problems and works with User Support to resolve user issues in a timely and courteous manner. Responds to calls received from the Help Desk ticket tracking software for ticket entry, tracking and follow up. Troubleshoots user problems that may require visiting the user directly. Contributes to and updates the solutions database and the projects management database.
9.      Works with the Applications Development Manager and the Director of Applications and Development to develop a strategic plan for the Firm’s SharePoint function that provides for future growth and technological advancements.
10.   Serves as a liaison with vendors on the implementation of new packaged systems or upgrades to existing systems which integrate with SharePoint.  Evaluates and recommends third-party software solutions.
11.   Proactively interacts with all levels of Firm personnel and outside service companies to ensure the prompt resolution of SharePoint development issues.  Enthusiastically responds to customers’ needs in a proactive and timely manner and follows up to ensure a high level of user satisfaction with services provided.
12.   Proactively maintains and expands knowledge of trends, developments and new technologies that may have a potential impact upon firm operations.  Researches, evaluates and provides input on software products and researches, evaluates and recommends enhancements to current applications programs, systems and methods of operating.
13.   Assumes responsibility for maintaining the highest level of confidentiality of all firm records and files.
14.   Participates in departmental project teams and task forces designed to streamline workflow and/or resolve issues; assists with various firm and/or departmental projects and initiatives as assigned.
15.   Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
1.      Bachelor's Degree in computer science or equivalent technical knowledge.   Microsoft Certified with current version of SharePoint  / WSS preferred.
2.      3+ years of experience working with SharePoint.  Expert-level expertise with current version of Microsoft SharePoint.
3.      Strong competency in Microsoft Visual Studio, Windows Workflow Foundation, Forms Server and Excel Services.  Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft.NET development tools, MS SQL Server, ODBC, IIS, Visual Studio, Internet Security, C#, Visual Basic, HTML, SOAP and XML; working knowledge of, JavaScript, and TCP/IP; Web Services.  Thorough command of the industry language and the ability to effectively communicate technical information to a variety of technical and non-technical users.
4.      Strong analytical and problem solving skills, ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments, use initiative and judgment to accomplish results, participate as a team leader or member of a team, work under pressure and complete job assignments in an accurate, timely and professional manner.  Good organization skills with ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently while achieving deadlines and effectively communicating project status.
5.      Excellent presentation, communication, interpersonal and customer service skills required and ability to interact effectively and professionally with all learning styles, personality types and levels of management, staff and a variety of external entities including clients and prospective clients of the Firm.
6.      Ability to travel to the Firm’s other offices.
